As The Salvation Army of Fort Dodge nears the finish line of its 2022 Red Kettle Campaign with severe cold weather closing in, local leadership is making a final push for kettle donations within the community.
Donations to Salvation Army red kettles are critically important. Kettle donations make it possible for The Salvation Army to carry out its mission to serve those in need, both during the holiday season and throughout the rest of the year–in the spirit of its 2022 kettle-season theme of “Love Beyond Christmas.” The needs funded by these donations range from providing food and utility-bill assistance to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty and more.
As of today, The Salvation Army of Fort Dodge is behind on its 2022 kettle-campaign goal. The organization is asking for a team effort from the local community to fill the campaign gap.
Kettles will still be deployed at stores around town through Christmas Eve. Amid this week’s severe cold weather, kettles will be moved indoors at Hy-Vee, Fareway, and Hobby Lobby — look for the “indoor kettles” at those locations.
